Move tracks from SoundCloud to Soundfish

What moves

Only the audio files and whatever metadata you retype. Soundfish has no importer: comments, play counts, likes, reposts, followers, and release history stay on SoundCloud, and an album’s revision history starts at revision one.

Steps

1. Get your files back from SoundCloud. If you still have the masters on disk, skip this step. Otherwise open each track’s Permissions tab and enable downloads, then use the download control under the waveform, which serves the file as uploaded. On Artist Pro, SoundCloud also documents a “Download original files” control on the track editing page.
2. Open the upload page and sign in or create a free Hraness account.
3. Create the album, add a cover, and upload each file as a track. Soundfish accepts MP3, WAV, and FLAC up to 200 MiB and 20 minutes per track; a free account publishes one album of up to 10 tracks.
4. Set the visibility. Published puts the album in the Soundfish catalogue, on your artist page, and in search. Unlisted keeps it off listings and search but lets anyone with the link open it, useful for drafts.
5. Copy the album link into your SoundCloud profile or track descriptions so the listeners you already have can find the new page.

What does not move

Plays, comments, likes, reposts, and followers. Soundfish has no follower graph and no way to import another platform’s social data, so the audience rebuilds from wherever you share the new link.

Distribution and monetization. Soundfish does not send music to Spotify or other services, so keep SoundCloud, or another distributor, for anything you release through it.

Artwork, descriptions, and tags are re-entered by hand on the album form.

If you only need part of it

A common split is keeping SoundCloud for discovery and putting one finished record on Soundfish for timestamped comments and revision history. The two link to each other, so nothing forces a full move.
